It’s not uncommon to pay 20-40% higher CPCs when using automated bidding for conversion and lead generation campaigns on LinkedIn.

This is why LinkedIn Ads experts recommend using Manual Bidding instead. 

The strategy here is to set a floor bid (the lowest possible) and then gradually increase your bids over time based on the amount of volume and cost you’re willing to pay. 

As you can imagine this is a very time consuming process, as you need to:

  1. Check your bids against your average CPC daily
  2. Review performance for your campaigns 
  3. Make the manual adjustments 

The end result is worth the effort, but as you scale the process becomes more time consuming. Thankfully this is where Sami can help.

This SAM automation will run once per day and increase your bids by 10% if your manual bid is 90% of your average CPC. You can also set a max bid cap for protection. 

The logic here is if your manual bid is 90% of your average CPC that means you’re probably restricting your reach and can afford to increase them a bit further.
